DTF Artwork Specifications
Find answers to the most common questions about DTF transfers, screen printing, embroidery, sublimation, engraving, custom apparel, ordering, and shipping from DB Graphics A2.
1. What services does DB Graphics A2 offer?
We provide DTF transfers and custom gang sheets, screen printing, embroidery, sublimation, custom apparel printing, laser and rotary engraving, promotional products, awards, plaques, and trophies. Contact us if you are unsure which production method is right for your project.
2. Is there a minimum order quantity?
Minimum quantities depend on the selected service. Our standard minimum for short-run screen-printing orders is six pieces. Most DTF projects have no minimum order, making DTF an excellent option for small quantities and full-color artwork. Contact us to confirm the requirements for your project.
3. How long does production take?
Standard screen-printing production typically requires 7–12 business days after artwork, product availability, payment, and order details are approved. Turnaround times for DTF, embroidery, sublimation, engraving, and awards may vary. Rush availability is not guaranteed and should be discussed before ordering.
4. What artwork files do you accept?
The preferred format depends on the service. For DTF printing, we recommend a transparent PNG at the actual finished size and 300 DPI. Vector files such as AI, EPS, SVG, or print-ready PDF may be preferred for screen printing, embroidery, and engraving. Please submit the highest-quality original artwork available.
5. Can DB Graphics A2 help prepare my artwork?
Yes. We can assist with resizing, background removal, gang-sheet setup, artwork cleanup, and embroidery digitizing. Additional design, setup, or digitizing fees may apply depending on the condition and complexity of the artwork.
6. Can I supply my own garments?
We can screen print or embroider customer-supplied garments, subject to approval. Please contact us before bringing or shipping your items. We do not laser engrave customer-supplied products. DB Graphics A2 is not responsible for defects or inconsistencies in garments supplied by the customer.
7. Do you offer custom embroidery and digitizing?
Yes. We embroider shirts, polos, caps, jackets, bags, blankets, uniforms, and other approved products. Artwork must first be converted into an embroidery-ready stitch file. A one-time digitizing fee may apply based on the size, detail, and estimated stitch count.
8. Do you offer local pickup and shipping?
Yes. Customers can select local pickup in Ann Arbor, Michigan, or have eligible orders shipped. Shipping costs and delivery times depend on the order size, destination, and selected shipping service. Production time is separate from carrier transit time.
9. Can I order custom products for my business, school, team, or event?
Absolutely. We work with businesses, schools, sports teams, nonprofit organizations, churches, clubs, events, and individuals. We can help produce staff uniforms, spirit wear, team apparel, branded merchandise, promotional products, awards, and personalized gifts.
10. How do I request a quote or place an order?
Send us your artwork, product selection, sizes, quantities, decoration locations, preferred completion date, and pickup or shipping preference. The more information you provide, the more accurately we can prepare your quote.

Prepare Your Artwork for the Best DTF Print Quality
Correctly prepared artwork helps DB Graphics A2 produce sharp details, vibrant colors, clean edges, and durable DTF transfers. Review these requirements before uploading your gang sheet or individual design files.
Preferred DTF File Requirements
| Specification | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Preferred file format | Transparent PNG |
| Resolution | 300 DPI recommended |
| Document dimensions | Actual finished print size |
| Background | Completely transparent |
| Color mode | RGB preferred |
| Orientation | Do not mirror |
| Design spacing | Minimum 0.25″ between designs |
| Fine details | Avoid extremely thin lines and tiny text |
| Sheet boundaries | Keep all artwork inside the sheet |
| File edges | Remove stray pixels and background boxes |
Before You Upload
Do not mirror your artwork. Our production process will handle the required print orientation.
Make sure every design is placed at its actual finished print size. Enlarging a low-resolution image will not improve its quality and may produce blurry or pixelated transfers.
All unwanted backgrounds must be removed. Even a white or nearly invisible background can print as an unwanted box around your design.
Print-Ready Artwork Checklist
Before submitting your file, confirm that:
- Artwork is at the actual finished print size.
- Resolution is 300 DPI whenever possible.
- The background is completely transparent.
- Artwork is prepared in RGB color mode.
- Text is converted to outlines or rasterized.
- Fine lines and small details are thick enough to print clearly.
- At least 0.25″ of spacing remains between designs.
- No design extends beyond the gang-sheet boundary.
- All unwanted pixels and soft background boxes are removed.
- The artwork has not been mirrored.
- You have permission to reproduce all submitted images, logos, and designs.
Gang Sheet Spacing and Placement
Leave a minimum of 0.25″ between every design to provide enough room for cutting. Do not overlap designs or place artwork outside the selected sheet dimensions.
DB Graphics A2 is not responsible for designs that are submitted at the wrong size, placed outside the sheet boundary, or arranged too closely for proper cutting.
Fine Lines, Small Text, and Special Effects
Very thin lines and extremely small text may not print or press clearly. Increase the thickness of delicate details whenever possible.
Transparent effects, fades, glows, shadows, and semi-transparent pixels may produce unexpected results when printed with white ink. Review your artwork carefully and use solid colors where appropriate.
Color Information
For the most vivid output, prepare your DTF artwork in RGB color mode. Printed colors can vary from what appears on a monitor because screens display light while DTF printers reproduce color with ink.
Exact color matching is not guaranteed unless a color-matching service has been discussed and approved before production.
Need Us to Build Your Gang Sheet?
Upload your separate transparent artwork files and tell us the desired size and quantity for each design. Our team can arrange them into a production-ready custom gang sheet.
Additional charges may apply for:

- Resolution improvements
- Color adjustments
- File conversion
- General artwork cleanup
There are no setup fees for properly prepared, print-ready gang sheet files.
Copyright and Artwork Responsibility
By submitting artwork, you confirm that you own the artwork or have permission to reproduce it. DB Graphics A2 may refuse copyrighted, trademarked, unauthorized, offensive, or otherwise restricted content.
